My possible way for getting the Laravel certification

Published March 7, 2020 • 2 mins read

The most obvious thing to do is probably to look around the Laravel Certification site yourself. Perhaps it will tell you which topics are covered in the certification process.

Let’s see… this seems to be the correct link:

Getting Started - Laravel Certification

Yes! That’ll take me further.

Okay, so I’m in a good position if I can do the following things:

I would affirm the first three points myself. But I’m not yet comfortable with the unit tests. I bought the video course Test Driven Laravel from Adam Wathan. But I haven’t worked through it yet. Okay… more on that later.

What else we can get from this page?

“Best Pratices”… I can recommend everyone to consider that. When I look at my first Laravel projects, I would like to refactor or rebuild them all immediately.

All right. I’m on the documentation page of Laravel every day, but it won’t do any harm to work through them from front to back.

It’s also good to know that the known packages don’t have to be part of the basic knowledge.

List of covered topics

Oh ha! This makes you realize how extensive this framework is. I am thrilled. So if I can make a checkmark in front of each of these points, I will buy the voucher and get the certificate. Well, the way to this point will be challenging, but possible.

For all of you who are also helped by a checklist, here is a list I made for checking off:

Further steps for preparation

Step 1

A few years ago I got a lifetime access to Laracasts. One of my best investments. What Jeffrey Way has built up there… remarkable.

Goal: From now on I will watch three lessons of Laracasts every day. Of course structured according to the Journeys that Jeffrey suggests. Based on the lessons I will then work through the to-do list.

Step 2

Further up I have already written about the video course “Test Driven Laravel“ from Adam Wathan. I will also work through this course parallel to Laracasts. Every day a video.

Conclusion

There’s a lot to do. Maybe now someone will think, “Gee, that’ll be quicker.” Yeah, maybe. But I still have a full-time job as a freelancer and a young family I want to be there for. So I think that this workload could be a good fit.

Let’s go!!!
